Israel’s Ministry of Tourism is launching a NIS 3 million shekel public relations campaign today (23 November) on Fashion TV. Under the heading “Israel, it’s like magic,” public relations clips featuring tourism and entertainment centres in Israel will be broadcast in 200 countries throughout the world.
Israel’s Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov is quoted in Shivuk-The Marker (translation below) as saying “this is a revolutionary step. Viewers of FTV follow new trends and choose their holiday and vacation sites accordingly. Appealing to them opens the way to a new public.”
Minister Misezhnikov belongs to the extreme party of Foreign Minister Liberman, Yisrael Beitenu, and was in the news last month noting that the planned conduct of the OECD tourism conference (20-22 October) in Jerusalem is “a declaration of intent and a seal of approval on the fact that we have a state whose recognized capital is Jerusalem."
Israel’s Ministry of Tourism will also be distributing an “exclusive” calendar that includes photographs from 12 tourist sites in Israel.
