"An outspoken Quebec television host and mayor who questioned Israel’s right to exist has drawn the ire of an international Jewish human rights group and sparked an investigation by the national broadcast regulator.
Stéphane Gendron, host of Face à Face, a daily talk show on Quebec’s V Television network, garnered a flood of complaints after a December broadcast where he said he supported an ongoing boycott of a Montreal store that sold Israeli-made shoes. “Products made in Israel on land stolen from the Palestinians that is walled in, in an apartheid regime where they are cut off, it’s very serious,” said Mr. Gendron, who is also the mayor of Huntingdon, a small town south of Montreal. “And a country like that does not deserve to exist.”

#BDS: MNA Amir Khadir unapologetic for picketing store that sells Israeli-made shoes
Québec solidaire leader Amir Khadir is making no apologies for asking clients to boycott a family-owned shoe store in his own riding because it sells shoes made in Israel.
"Just because a business is in my riding, I am not going to abandon my principles," Khadir, member of the National Assembly for Mercier, told The Gazette on Friday.
Khadir participated in a demonstration last Saturday in front of Le Marcheur shoe store on St. Denis St. at Duluth Ave., handing out flyers asking customers to boycott the store until it stopped selling Israeli-made shoes.
The demonstration was organized by Palestinian and Jewish Unity, a Montreal-based human rights group that advocates for the right of Palestinians to live in safety.

Appel au boycott
MM. Dumas et Landry lancent un appel au boycott des produits provenant d’Israël afin de soutenir le peuple palestinien via le mouvement BDS.
BDS pour «boycott, désinvestissement, sanctions». Le mouvement demande la fin de l’occupation et de la colonisation illégales et violentes des territoires palestiniens par Israël, le respect du droit de retour des réfugiés palestiniens ainsi que l’égalité des droits pour les citoyens palestiniens d’Israël (20% de la population).
La population trifluvienne peut suivre le mouvement en s’abstenant notamment d’acheter les produits dont le code barre début par «729» (Israël), le produits de beauté Ahava et les vins en provenance du plateau du Golan.
